England is the national benchmark. Ofqual regional data, all GCSE subjects combined, age 16. Regional figures are published for grade 4+ and grade 7+ only.
About this data
These figures show national GCSE results for 16-year-olds in England. Results-day figures are provisional and may change following reviews of marking and other post-results processes. Subject results are sourced from the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). Regional comparisons are sourced from Ofqual.
Grade 7+ means the percentage of results awarded grade 7 or above. The same cumulative principle applies to 4+, 5+, 8+ and other thresholds.
Some newer subject categories are published individually only for 2025 and 2026 because earlier results sat within a broader subject group. Those earlier years are shown as “—” rather than estimated.
Ofqual regional entry totals and JCQ subject entry totals use different collection methods and are not combined.
